Another successful session for the Malitbog Sepak Takraw Community (MSTC).

Though we are still few in number, we continue to play to our hearts' content. What matters is that we show up, learn, share what we know, and keep the spirit of Sepak Takraw alive in Malitbog.

This session was also special because we welcomed a new trainee and beginner member to the community. It was great to see someone new step onto the court and start discovering the sport for the first time.

From Warm-Up to Skills

Our session began at the Old Police Station, where we did our stretching and warm-up. From there, we moved into some basic passing drills and spent time rediscovering skills that some of us had not practiced in a while.

For our new beginner, we took some time to explain the fundamentals and provide simple instructions so they could become familiar with the ball, basic movements, and passing techniques.

No pressure, no need to be perfect — just learn, try, and enjoy the game.

Finding a Place to Play

One of the challenges we continue to face is finding a proper place to play.

MSTC currently does not have a designated Sepak Takraw playing area, so finding a suitable space can sometimes be difficult.

But that hasn't stopped us.

After our activities at the Old Police Station, we transferred to an area near the Old Port of Malitbog and continued our session there.

It may not be a perfect court. It may not be a dedicated facility. But for now, it is a place where we can play.

And perhaps that's what MSTC is all about.

We are starting small. We are working with what we have. We are welcoming beginners, reconnecting with players who have experience, and slowly rebuilding the local spirit of Sepak Takraw.

Though we are few, we play.
Though we have no proper court yet, we find a way.
Though we are still starting, we keep moving forward.

One ball. One session. One new player at a time.

MSTC is here — and we're just getting started.
